A GROUP of talented and gifted Year 10 students from Nunnery Wood High School have visited Oxford University.

The group of 10 students were welcomed at Oriel College and had a full guided tour of the facilities.

They also met two undergraduate students who answered their questions and enjoyed a lecture on the basics of psychology.

They trip was designed to give the students an insight into opportunities offered by the prestigious university.

Ashly Tomy, one of the students on the trip, said: “Oxford University’s resources are second to none.

"My favourite aspect of what it offers, are the regular, individualised, tutorials which you have to assist you with the rigorous academic challenges, encouraging and facilitating your learning in a way that just isn't possible in a lecture.

"It also means that tutors are immediately aware if you need any extra support with any aspect of your course, so they can help you right away."
