HADEN Hill House museum is staging a month of live music this July in Haden Hill Park.

There will be country music, jazz, brass bands and pop singers during several events at the Cradley Heath park.

Jane Hanney, museum services manager, said: "We are hoping that the summer will finally arrive and the sun will shine on some great music in the park. "People can bring a picnic and their picnic chairs or a blanket, enjoy the summer sun and the fabulous music and entertainment."

She added: "We have something to suit many tastes and the season kicks off with the Haden Hoe Down on Sunday, July 10 between noon and 4pm.

"Visitors can enjoy an afternoon of Country style music, with our favourite singer Ian Casey.

"There will also be children’s entertainment for younger visitors and a performance by New Age Creativity Dance Troupe so dust off your Stetson and cowboy boots and bring your picnic."

Then there will be a performance as part of Birmingham Jazz Festival on Sunday, July 24 between 2pm and 4pm.

The Friends of Haden Hill Estate have organised for the festival to reach as far as Cradley Heath with The Great Birmingham Trombone Company performing in Haden Hill Park while the tearoom will be open for cakes and tea.

On Sunday, July 31 between 2pm and 4pm the Salvation Army will be in Haden Hill Park for an hour of rousing songs of praise, the tearoom will be open for light refreshments."

Alison Hyatt, visitor services officer, added: "It’s always a fabulous atmosphere in the park when there is some great live music playing and everyone is enjoying the afternoon.

More live music will be returning on September 11 for the proms in the park event from 2pm and 6pm, all the events are free.
