A BRAVE Halesowen boy who suffers from an incurable muscle wasting disease is determined to walk the 5k Black Country Run to raise money for charity on Sunday.
James Wilde, aged nine, has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and struggles to walk even a few feet.
The progressive loss of strength and muscle leads to serious medical problems, particularly issues relating to the heart and lungs.
Proud mum Clare Pugh said: “This will be a mega achievement for James as he finds it hard to walk 10ft but he is determined to do it.”
James, a pupil at Colley Lane Primary School, has vowed to reach the finishing line even if it takes him a week.
He will be raising money for Action Duchenne and anyone wishing to sponsor him can do so at gofund.me/28f6xy3k or by calling Clare on 0121 4061563.
