FOR decades it stood proudly alongside Worcester Bridge announcing the location of Prosser's scrapyard to visitors to the city.
According to your viewpoint it either spoiled the picture postcard scene of the river and the cathedral or added a bit of local colour.
Either way, local burghers had long wanted it shifted and in 1979 a formula was eventually agreed.
The calling point for Worcester's tatters was to relocate west of the river from its familiar site on South Quay.
