EVEN the elephants at West Midland Safari Park were keen to catch a glimpse of the Flying Scotsman as it steamed past on its visit to the district.

The Bewdley attraction's resident elephants Five, Latabe and two-year-old Sutton stood by to watch the iconic locomotive during its visit to the Severn Valley Railway on Wednesday (September 21).

Lewis Hodson, deputy head of elephants, said: "The elephants have grown up with the sights, smells and sounds of the trains going past on the Severn Valley Railway and it has always been a nice backdrop to their enclosure.

"The Flying Scotsman provides an extra special backdrop and we look forward to seeing it over the next few days."

The Flying Scotsman is in Wyre Forest until Monday (September 26) for the SVR's Pacific Power event.
