OFFICERS are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Bewdley on Wednesday night.

The crash took place on a bridge in Load Street, between 10pm and 10.10pm on Wednesday (September 21), involving a pedestrian and a blue or dark grey Vauxhall Astra.

The pedestrian, one of three young men, walking on the north side of the bridge, was struck in his right leg and ended up on the bonnet of the car.

His injuries are not known.

The driver drove off in the direction of Stourport Road.

West Mercia Police officers investigating the incident are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed it or has any information which would help them identify the driver of the car.

Anyone with information is asked to call officers on 101, quoting incident reference number 746S of September 21.
