A TEENAGER boy was rescued from the roof of a Kidderminster town centre building.

Fire crews from Worcester and Droitwich and paramedics were called to the High Street at around 12.30pm yesterday (Thursday, October 27) afternoon.

Firefighters used the hydraulic platform and ropes to help get the boy down from the building.

He was treated at the scene for back pain before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We treated a teenage boy for back pain. There were no other notable significant injuries.

“He was immobilised with the use of a neck collar and spinal board as a precaution and taken to Worcester Royal Hospital.”
