WORCESTERSHIRE residents have been having their say on the future of transport in the county.

With four weeks left of a consultation, run by Worcestershire County Council, more than 120 people have taken part.

The consultation is asking residents to speak up about how they want the transport network to look in the future, which is all included in the draft Local Transport Plan 4.

The plan sets out the authority's aspirations for investing in transport networks, including infrastructure and technology which are essential to support planned growth and promote social and economic success as a highly desirable place to live work and visit.

The plan also sets out the issues and priorities for investment in transport infrastructure to support all relevant modes of transport including walking, cycling, rail, bus and community transport as well as motorised vehicles.

The public consultation started in December and runs until March 17.

In January around 300 people attended 10 pop in events, held in shopping centres, town halls and supermarkets in the county.

Councillor Ken Pollock, cabinet member for economy, skills and infrastructure, said: "We have had over 100 completed questionnaires so far which is encouraging and hundreds of people have attended our 'pop in' events.

"The transport network in Worcestershire plays such a vital part in all of our lives and making sure we are Open for Business which is one of our top priorities. That's why it's so important people have their say on the future of the transport infrastructure in the county and with just over a month left of the consultation, time is running out."
