CHARITY shop volunteers have welcomed a generous donation of goods which will help raise money for children's hospital facilities.

Staff from companies at a Hallow business park handed over a large selection of items to the Daisychain Benevolent Fund charity shop in St John's Worcester.

The donations, which included clothes and shoes, will be sold at the charity's shops to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and local hospital facilities.

Big-hearted staff from number of businesses, including Clearview Systems, gave the unwanted goods to help the charity raise cash.

Ellie Durn, of Clearview Systems, said: "We wanted to help out a local charity. When we took the time to look into what the Daisychain Benevolent Fund does and who it supports, we thought there was no better place to invest our time and effort into.

"Hopefully the work that we have done will raise the profile of the charity and inspire more businesses to organise charity events in order to raise more money for such a fantastic cause."

Davina Roberts, retail operations director at the Benevolent Fund, said: "We are enormously grateful to Ellie at Clearview for organising this collection of goods for our shops.

"It is only through donations such as this that we are able to raise funds to buy essential equipment and to provide facilities for children and young people in the local area."

Anyone can make a donation of unwanted clothes, accessories, shoes, books, DVDs and gifts to their nearest Daisychain shop.
