A COTSWOLD castle is to celebrate May Day Bank Holiday with an exciting event inspired by the Victorian period.

Sudeley Castle and Gardens in Winchcombe will be coming alive on Monday, (May 1), during the annual Victorian May Day.

Visitors will be able to enjoy various entertainment including Punch and Judy shows, a Victorian street theatre, a variety of traditional side shows including a fortune teller and, newly introduced this year, an interactive outdoor circus.

This is set to include a skilled equestrian display, jugglers, stilt walkers and an aerial act.

Sian Jocelyn, visitor services manager, said: “Our annual Victorian May Day is back by popular demand and is set to be bigger and better than ever before.

“Our May Day event is always a particular favourite for many of our guests, and we are looking forward to seeing lots of happy faces at this year’s celebrations.”

The event will run from 10am and 4pm, and included in the price is general admission ticket, or with a 12-month pass.
