THE reason I am standing as an Independent is because I am concerned for the future.

I feel that if we don’t alter our way of thinking and change our attitudes towards climate change, pollution, wars and warmongering, the human race will become extinct in 100 years.

I believe that hatred is a driving force in the world today; hatred towards immigration, hatred towards different religions and this must stop if our species is to survive.

It is clear that the majority of people have not benefited from the industrial or technological revolutions of the past few decades; indeed, the disparity between the rich and poor is growing ever wider, with the rich being evermore disinclined to pay more taxes to help those less well off.

I am also deeply concerned about the decline or extinction of many animals across the world.

We only have to see what is happening with the destruction of our bee population due to pesticides and intensive farming. Without the bee, a very small link in a much bigger chain, each and every one of us is under threat of extinction.

I am also opposed to employing American or any outside so-called specialists to build our railways or bridges.

Instead, we should be proud to utilise our own British engineers and keeping the investment in our infrastructure within this country.

Finally, I do not support the financial situation in this country at all as I believe it to be discriminatory.
