A MAN has stolen a large amount of money in a robbery at a sandwich shop in Kidderminster.

The incident took place at a Subway branch, in Stourport Road, between 6.15pm and 6.20pm on Saturday, August 19, when a man entered the shop and verbally threatened a member of staff before demanding money from the till.

A member of staff, a man in his 20s, has handed over a large amount of money.

The offender has then fled the scene and is believed to have headed in the direction of Brinton Park.

No one was injured in the robbery, but police described it as a "traumatic experience" for the staff.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 5ft 11ins and 6ft in height with brown hair. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black and white check style cap, a baggy black hooded top with white writing saying 'Nike', baggy black jogging bottoms and black shoes with white stripes.

PC Lindsey Atwell, from West Mercia Police, said: "This was an understandably traumatic experience for the members of staff, who thankfully were not injured during the incident.

"Officers arrived quickly at the scene and a thorough investigation has been launched to identify the suspect, who stole a substantial amount of money before leaving."
