A WOMAN was taken to hospital following a crash between a lorry and a car in Kidderminster this morning (Monday, October 23).

Emergency services crews were called to the A449 - close to the junction of the B4189, Wolverley Road, and Park Gate Road - at around 8.30am on Monday morning.

The crash involved a white Kia estate car and a white Mercedes lorry.

A woman in her 20's was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for further assessment.

A spokesman from West Mercia Police said: "Officers attended the scene, which was close to the junction of the B4189 Wolverly Road, along with fire and ambulance services.

"A woman in her 20s has been taken to the Minor Injuries Unit at Kidderminster Hospital as a precaution and the road remained open."

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "A 26-year-old female was in the car that was in collision with a lorry.

"The car spun onto a grass verge - reportedly at low speed.

"She was given pain relief and taken to Kidderminster Hospital's Minor Injuries Unit for further assessment.

"An ambulance and a paramedic officer were sent to the scene."

A spokesman from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service added: "Two crews from Kidderminster fire station attended the incident which involved a car and a lorry.

"One female was medically trapped. Firefighters removed the car door and the female was released from the vehicle.

"The vehicle was made safe by the firefighters."
