SUPER Studley have gone four points clear on top of Midland League Division One after bagging a 3-1 win over Bolehall Swifts.

Two goals from Josh Westwood and a third by Lewis Clarke clinched the points but boss Keith Draper believes his side should have won by a much bigger margin.

Draper declared: "We played really well and could have easily won by double figures. For instance, Matt Powell hit the post twice and missed another really good chance - and he's a central defender.

"The windy conditions made play difficult at times, but we kept the ball on the deck and it was pleasing on the eye to watch."

Such is Studley's strength in depth at the moment that prolific marksman Andy Nicol could only make it on the bench following his return from wedding duty and came on for the last half hour.

Draper explained: "Karl King came in for his debut last week and did really well.

"It would have been wrong to have left him out. We've got 20 players in the squad and anyone of them can come in and do a job for us.

"We've got such a good squad of players that I haven't been able to pick the same team once this season.

"We keep rotating the squad and the players understand this, although they are obviously disappointed when left out.

"Keeping them all happy and together can be very difficult, but the players themselves keep raising the bar.

"As a result, competition for places becomes very intense and we had a chat about this after the game with Bolehall.

"The players all understand that they have to be at the top of their form."

Studley have now gone 12 league games without defeat and look to cement top spot still further this Saturday when they travel To Uttoxeter Town before entertaining Cadbury's next Tuesday.
