A HOODLUM confronted an 85-year-old woman before scratching and smashing up her car in a shocking incident at a Stourbridge railway station car park.

The pensioner had parked her car by the Stourbridge Junction station ticket office on Saturday (June 16) morning when a man approached her, accusing her of hitting his car.

She vehemently denied the accusation and, fearing the man was set to become violent, she walked away and caught her train to Birmingham.

However, when she returned several hours later, the woman found her car covered with deep scratches on every panel, a message scrawled across the side of the vehicle and her wing mirror smashed.

The woman originally arrived at the car park at around 8.30am and the damage to her is believed to have been perpetrated any time between then and 11.30am.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police confirmed the incident was being investigated and asked anyone with any information to call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number of 17/6/2018.
