A GARDEN party hosted by two Stourbridge businesswomen has raised almost a thousand pounds for the Alzheimer's Society.
Sarah Clark, owner of Rock the Bake, and Rebecca Hadley, Creative Director at Becky Black Design, raised £858 for the charity.
Monies were raised through donations for cupcakes, produced by Rock the Bake, refreshments and a raffle sponsored heavily by other local businesses.
GreenSafe IT, The Cock’n’Bull, Claire Coleyshaw @Stella & Dot, Goodwin HR, The IT Works, Active Adventuers and Kate Dulson @Younique were among the companies to contribute prizes.
Rebecca said: "We are overwhelmed by the support received from our friends, family and community.
"The local businesses boosted our fundraising efforts through some fantastic raffle donations; from a smart TV, champagne and gin to jewellery.
"So many people had stories to share, of loved ones lost and of family members currently struggling through this terrible disease.
"Dementia research is desperately underfunded, so hopefully we will have inspired others to continue supporting this very worthy cause.”
