A MAN was taken to hospital following an assault in Hereford last Saturday.

Police were called to Belmont Avenue on the early evening of Saturday, July 7.

According to a police spokesman, two males at the scene made themselves known to police and alleged that a man had approached the pair and then allegedly threw the victim to floor, which caused no injuries.

He grabbed him again, dragged him and punched him in the face, which caused an injury to his eye.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to scene at 7.23pm where they treated a man in his twenties with cuts to his face.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

Police confirmed that no arrests have been made at the moment.
