A GORNAL man had a shock when he found a rusty old safe in his back garden.
Daniel Kukuła had planned to spend the afternoon trimming trees when he discover the locked metal box on Wednesday.
The 38-year-old told the News: "My neighbour asked me if I can trim the trees on my side of the brook between our gardens, so I managed to lift one of the fence panels and I found it dumped there.
"It must have been there for years - water and bugs were was coming out from the lock.
"It's very heavy and the walls are about an inch thick. I cleaned it up a bit with the pressure washer.
"A few of my mates offered help in opening it, but I don't want to destroy it, looks kind of cool with all the rust.
"I don't expect that there is something valuable inside, maybe some papers."
However Mr Kukula is curious about what secrets the safe contains and has asked for any professionals willing to help open it to email newsgrouped@midlands.newsquest.co.uk
