A HALESOWEN church is marking its 150th anniversary this year by hosting a number of special celebratory events.

Members of Short Cross Methodist Church, in Attwood Street, will celebrate the milestone year with events throughout September, October and November.

These will include a nostalgia evening, a performance by the Langley Brass Band, a barn dance and a grand autumn fayre.

The fayre is set to take place on Saturday, September 29, between 10am and 2pm, where refreshments including bacon butties and light lunches will be served.

There will also be a variety of stalls selling everything from cakes to crafts, books and bric-a-brac, as well as a 150 stall – selling everything for £1.50 – a name the bear completion and even a hook-a-duck, among others.

Jacqueline Garbett, church member, said: “We would love to welcome everyone to share the fun as we look forward to the next 150 years.

“Make a morning of it and grab yourselves a bargain.”
