WORLD famous actress Elizabeth Hurley was guest of honour at the Bromsberrow Village Dog Show and Family Fun Day, last Saturday, and she even entered her own dog into the competition.

The event took place at The Shop, on the Bromsberrow Heath Business Park, and Miss Hurley, who lives at Donnington Hall near Ledbury, stayed for about one hour and even handed out prize rosettes.

Shop volunteer, Jan Long said: "Miss Hurley was gracious and glamorous in equal measure: chatting to villagers and their dogs.

"A known animal lover, Elizabeth brought her lovely spaniel, Mia, whom she entered into the 'Dog I'd like most to take home' category, where Mia achieved second place, pipped at the post by Ffion a Welsh spaniel."

Mrs Long added: "Miss Hurley wore denim blue jeans, ankle boots and a fitted country style jacket, and happily posed for pictures with those present, including Ledbury Town Councillor, Dee Linda Knight, and the High Sheriff, Charles Martell, manufacturer of the famous Stinking Bishop Cheese.

"The annual fun dog show of Bromsberrow Heath, at the community Shop, was presided over by Andrew Elliott, the auctioneer from Brightwell's Auction House. Andrew kept the audience amused and entertained, giving his time free for the afternoon.

"We were all delighted to see Miss Hurley at the show who entered into the spirit of the occasion by bringing her gorgeous spaniel."

Mrs Long said: "Miss Hurley was utterly charming and simply lovely and we are very grateful to her for finding time in her busy schedule to join the fun and hand out the prize rosettes."

As an actress, her best-known film roles to date have included Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery and Bedazzled.
