A SALES adviser won't have much of a commute, thanks to buying a house where she works.

Jen Ley, 28, has put her money where her mouth is and has bought a home from her employer Barratt Homes at Bishop Fields in Hereford – where she also works.

Jen said, “I have always thought of Barratt Homes as a respectable company which builds beautiful houses and working for them has just confirmed this. I knew we would be purchasing a home which was built to the highest standard.”

Jen works at the Hampton Dene Road development, where she helps homebuyers throughout their moving process.

Jen and her boyfriend Ben Chillari, aged 34, used the government-backed Help to Buy scheme to purchase their three bedroom Hereford home.

Jen added: "It was an ambition of ours to buy our new home and the Help to Buy scheme was really useful to give us a boost towards getting on the property ladder. The scheme enabled us to buy a slightly larger three bedroom home, rather than having two bedrooms.”

Ben, who is a self-employed artist, said: “It was important that we bought a house with extra space so we could have both a guest bedroom and a spare room and Help to Buy bought this within budget. I use the spare room as my painting studio which allows me to have some private working space in our new home.”

Graydon Worthing, Sales Director at Barratt Homes West Midlands, said, “Jen believes in the quality of the homes she’s selling at Bishop Fields so much, that she’s decided to purchase one of them herself.

"It’s great to have her as both a valued employee and a resident who is part of our new Hereford community.

"We’d encourage anyone looking for a new home in Herefordshire to visit Bishop Fields and see the superb properties on offer.”
