A SCRAP yard could be redeveloped into 10 houses at land near Fosse Lodge in Stratford Road, Moreton.

A decision will be made on the application at a Cotswold District Council meeting at Council Chamber in Trinity Road, Cirencester on Wednesday February 13 at 9.30am.

Councillor Rachael Shaw, planning chairman of Moreton Town Council wrote to planners outlining her concerns.

Cllr Shaw said: "The site is in a rural location on the edge of town and these would be very prominent buildings on the approach.

"There is no footpath leading into the town, making it very dangerous for pedestrians.

"The site is on a 60MPH stretch of the A429, which would cause issues with vehicles turning in and out on a fast road.

"There have been a number of accidents on that stretch of road, only a short distance from the site.

"There is not adequate parking, only 11 spaces and two for visitors with no on-road parking available.

"I think that careful consideration for this site needs to be taken."
