VISITORS to Church Green this weekend can enjoy all the fun of the fair as the last of the summer bandstand events takes on a community festival theme.

There will be music, stalls, activities, a bouncy castle, polish food and tea and cakes.

Tommy Wilson’s Funfair will also be around the town centre.

Performances will include It’s a Sign Choir – winners of Redditch has Talent, The Neil Jones Experience, Alcester Musical Theatre Company, Olivia’s Dancers and Oya Batucada Samba Band with Samba Dancers.

There will also be a community parade which will leave from outside the Palace Theatre at 2.45pm making a short walk through the Kingfisher Centre to the bandstand.

Various community groups will be taking part and there will also be a stilt walker.

Councillor Mike Rouse, whose portfolio covers leisure and cultural services, said: "This is the last event of the season, so let's end it on a high. When I talk to people around Redditch they are always telling me they want more for the young people to do, so here we go - there's something for everyone."

He added: "It's especially heartening to know a number of community groups are joining the walking parade from the Palace Theatre. Come and give these talented youngsters plenty of encouragement, they've worked hard on this."

The event will run from noon to 4pm on Saturday, September 15.

Outdoor performances may be subject to change/cancellation due to adverse weather conditions.
