HAGLEY football coach Neil Gibbons is among the thousands set to take on the London Marathon this Sunday (April 22).

Father-of-two Neil, an U8 team coaches at West Hagley FC, is running for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Stourbridge businessman, who runs motorcycle parts firm Racing Planet UK, has already raised more than £3,500 for the charity - having held various fundraisers including a charity football match, quiz and curry night and coffee and cake sale.

No stranger to charity challenges - Neil, aged 40, was among a four-strong team who in 2016 took on the gruelling Fan Dance challenge, which follows the 24km SAS selection route on the Pen Y Fan mountains in the Brecon Beacons, to raise money for Stourbridge youngster Calla-Rose Cadman who has a rare form of epilepsy.

He also completed the inaugural Birmingham International Marathon last October.
