THE Wyre Forest community are invited to a celebration of dignity at a Stourport care home next week.

To show their support for the national awareness day, Dignity Action Day, on Tuesday, February 3, between 10.30am and 12.30pm, the team and residents at Ravenhurst Residential Care Home in Lickhill Road North, Stourport-on-Severn, are inviting people from the local community along to their digni-tea party.

There will be an abundance of coffee and cake, with the residents, team and visitors writing down the word dignity means to them, before placing their thoughts on a special dignity tree.

Organised by Dignity in Care, which campaigns to put dignity and respect at the heart of the care services, Dignity Action Day, which officially takes place on Sunday, February 1, is a day where communities and care providers highlight the importance of treating people with the upmost dignity and respect, while providing a special and memorable day for people receiving their care.

Carla Siwicki, the home’s activities leader, said: “Upholding residents’ dignity is something we always pride ourselves on, so we are really looking forward to inviting familiar and new faces along from the local community to our digni-tea party.”
