A WYRE Forest beautician dived from an airplane at 13,000 feet to raise funds for Kemp Hospice in memory of her mother who died of lung cancer.
Janet Bennett, 45, of Lancaster Road, Bewdley, raised £500 by taking part in the tandem sky dive last Sunday (September 27) and said she was keen to try other heart pounding fundraising challenges to help boost the charity.
She said: “I loved it. It was fantastic. I just wanted to go straight back up and do it again.”
Mrs Bennett’s mother, Rose, died four years ago. Her 18-year-old daughter, Rosie Bentley, named her Kidderminster salon, Roses Salon, in honour of her grandmother.
Rosie and her brother, Joshua, along with salon employees, will be taking part in the Santa Fun Run on November 29 for Kemp Hospice.
Mrs Bennett said: “The bereavement counselling offered by Kemp Hospice helped me a great deal when my parents died.
“We will always do all we can to raise funds for them in memory of my parents who will always be a shining light in our hearts.”
