A LOCAL singer will have her first single released on iTunes next month.

Immy Stanley, 18, from Ombersley was spotted performing at local venues by London-based company Halo Records UK as their owner Michael Maslen is from Worcester.

Miss Stanley, formerly of Droitwich High School describes her single 'Dancing Lights' as a 'slow rock tune.'

She teams up with her cousin Jake Marsh, to perform in front of audiences in Worcester and the surrounding areas.

She said: "It's really exciting to get my first EP and it feels amazing. I am so thankful to Mike because without him none of this would have happened.

I sing different types of music, from rock to jazz to blues.

"My dream is to be able to sing wherever I can, whether that be weddings or in local areas, and be able to earn enough money to do it fulltime.

"I have done quite a few gigs in the area, I have a regular gig once a month at Bottles in Worcester until October and will be performing at the Wychbold Club and The Pheasant in Worcester and I do quite a lot of open mic nights.

"I do quite a lot of covers with my cousin but we try to make them our own."

The former Ombersley First School and Westacre Middle School pupil started her interest in music when she was 4 years old, learning to play on her grandmother's piano and lessons followed.

She says her parents love of all music from classical to 70s progressive rock is what she grew up with and she still cites Bad Company as one of her favourite Bands.

She realised that her cousin Jake Marsh played as a singer songwriter and often performed at local pub venues and decided to do the same, thinking that Ellie Goulding was discovered at an open mic night, all be it in London, this might give her a chance to be found.

Musically she loves Hayley Williams of rock band Paramore and the bands ,Wolf Alice and London Grammar but keeps a special place in her heart for all things Robert Plant.

She intends to go back to keyboards and use that with singing as have singer songwriters such as Nerina Pallot.

The single, which she even designed the artwork for, is available to buy on iTunes on Friday March 2.
