DINERS can tuck into a three-course meal during a night of fun and fabulous prizes while helping pay for a new scanner at Kidderminster Hospital.

Wyre Forest District Council chairman Fran Oborski is organising the dinner to raise much-needed funds for her two charities – The Kidderminster Hospitals League of Friends’ Scanner Appeal and Kidderminster Foodbank.

The black-tie event will take place at Kidderminster’s La Brasserie restaurant on Friday, March 28 and prizes up for grabs on the night include a VIP tour of West Midland Safari Park and an Easter hamper.

Mrs Oborski said she was hoping to raise £1,000 for the two causes, with tickets for the event priced at £28 each.

She added: “There will be a really good raffle and auction. We have some fabulous prizes. I hope to see as many people there as possible.”

She said people could book tables as a group or individually, adding: “We expect it to be a really good social experience – plenty of nice people to sit and have dinner with and an opportunity to raise additional funds. We’re hoping it will be a really fun evening.”

Mrs Oborski chose to raise cash for the charities when she became chairman of the authority last year.

Peter Picken, of the League of Friends, added: “Fran has made the Scanner Appeal one of her charities and I know she’s been working hard to raise money.

“It will be a very enjoyable occasion. I’m looking forward to the support from the community on the night.”

People can get tickets for the dinner by emailing karen.walsh@wyreforestdc.gov.uk or
by calling Mrs Oborski on 01562 823911.

Mr Picken added the £125,000 appeal had now reached £107,000 but still needed residents to help raise the final amount.

People can make a donation to the appeal by calling 01562 67653.

Cheques made payable to Kidderminster Hospitals League of Friends can be sent to Cadisha
