A taste of Africa
 |
| Ronnie showed us some beautiful African necklaces |
On 17th March Ronnie, a lady from VSO (voluntary services overseas) came to visit our school. She first spoke to us in our morning assembly about all the things she had seen and done in Africa.
After lunch she came into Year 6 and spoke to us about where she lived and about the people she meets every day.
She told us about the schools and that they have no glass windows but just holes in the walls. Ronnie also told us that the pupils of a local school were so dedicated that they spent most of their summer holidays collecting sticks for a new school fence.
Ronnie also brought in an African drum, which I got to play.
All in all my classmates and I had a fantastic time with Ronnie and learnt a lot about how people live in Africa.
Report by Year 6 pupil.
