THE hot issue of climate change is being tackled by student film-makers in an effort to educate youngsters.

Bewdley School and Sixth Form AS and A level art classmates spent two days planning and videoing animated films for an eye-opening DVD on the threat to the global environment, last Thursday and Friday.

With help from Rachel Lambert of the Rural Media Company, teenagers discussed ideas before putting together four films aimed at educating the school's younger pupils.

Class member, Jo Raven, 18, has also been offering her peers expert advice on the issue as she is a member of the You, Me and the Climate national youth committee.

Becky Newbold, head of art, said: "With this project, students get to work as a team, using technology, and learn how to explain climate change to younger pupils."
