CHILDREN have been learning about cooking inside a special articulated bus which opens out into state-of-the-art fully sized teaching kitchens.
Pupils at Franche Community Primary School, in Kidderminster, were visited by a Focus on Food Cooking Bus and joined by parents and other members of the community.
They learned basic cooking skills, the safe use of equipment, food safety and hygiene and how to cook dishes from a wide range of countries.
Kate Newman, year six teacher, said: "It went fantastically well. The children enjoyed every minute of it. The highlight for many was making spring rolls - they enjoyed making something from another culture."
Brandon Harold, 10, said: "It was really good and making the apple crumble was brilliant. It was the first time I had done it, even though my dad's a chef."
Focus on Food is a campaign which aims to raise the awareness and importance of food education.
