PUPILS at a Bewdley school raised £160 for charity when they dressed up for World Thinking Day.

Youngsters at St Anne's CE Primary School organised a non-uniform day to raise money to help provide clean water for children in poorer countries.

Guides and Scouts celebrate World Thinking Day every year to give thanks for what they have.

Simon Tapp, headteacher at the school, said: "The day was very successful. The children paid to dress up in their club uniforms.

"The pupils who are not members of clubs dressed in blue to represent water."

"They also did a presentation on World Thinking Day with no adult support.

"We feel very strongly about encouraging children to take charge and use their own initiative at the school.

"Organising the event was a great learning experience for the children because it gave them the opportunity to take on a higher level presentation."
