A SELFLESS Stourport centurion marked her landmark birthday by helping raise hundreds of pounds for a life-saving service.
Marjorie Guest celebrated her 100th birthday party with family and friends at Stourport Bowling Club last month.
But, rather than receiving any presents, Marjorie told her family and friends to make donations to the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity instead.
Her kindness resulted in a total of £510 being raised for the charity, which relies on donations to fund its service.
Marjorie said: “I told my family and friends that at my age, you don’t need anything, so I would prefer for their money to go to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity to hopefully help them save a life.”
Michelle McCracken, fundraising manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity in Worcestershire added: “We are so grateful to Marjorie for her generous donation.
“She is an inspiration to us all and her support will help us to fund a future lifesaving air ambulance mission.”
