A STOURPORT care home is set to welcome people from the local community to celebrate Care Home Open Day this week.

On Friday (June 16), Ravenhurst Residential Care Home, in Lickhill Road North, will throw open its doors to residents to enjoy a special celebration between 11am and 12 noon, and 2pm and 4pm.

At 11am, there will be a light armchair exercise session with Fit for Life Over 50, followed by fruit and light refreshments.

In the afternoon, from 2pm, there will be live music from the 1950s and 1960s and a visit from Francesca, a miniature Shetland pony - who is a regular visitor to the home.

There will also be an abundance of cupcakes, cream teas, Pimm's and other refreshments available throughout the day.

Carla Siwicki, activities leader at the home, said: "We always pull out all the stops to throw a very special celebration for Care Home Open Day and this year will be no exception.

"Our residents are really looking forward to meeting new and familiar faces from the local community so do come along and create some special memories with us."

June 16, marks the fifth annual Care Home Open Day, when homes nationwide open their doors and welcome people to share a special day with their teams and residents.
