VOTERS are being invited to comment on proposals for the Mitton ward's designated polling place for future elections.

The proposals put forward are to make St Michael's Scout headquarters in Mitton Close the polling station.

At the local elections in May and the General Election in June, it was not possible to use the polling place at St Wulstan's Community Centre, in Vale Road, as it was awaiting repairs to its roof - and now, a planning application has been lodged that could see the centre converted into flats.

For those two elections, voting in the ward successfully switched to St Michael's Scout HQ, a short distance away.

With the uncertainty surrounding the future availability of the community centre for elections, the council launched a review to give local people a chance to comment on where polling takes place in the ward for future elections. The consultation paper proposes that St Michael's Scout HQ should formally be the designated polling station instead.

Electors and interested organisations can comment by emailing electoral@wyreforestdc.gov.uk or by writing to Ian Miller, electoral registration officer, Wyre Forest House, Finepoint Way, Kidderminster, DY11 7WF.

The deadline for responding is 5pm on Tuesday, October 31.
