A STOURPORT primary school is the latest to join the Severn Academies Educational Trust (SAET).

Wilden All Saints CE Primary School officially joined the trust at the beginning of August and recently trust chief executive Chris King presented headteacher Francesca Fishwick with a certificate of recognition.

The Severn Academies Education Trust was formed in September 2016 and includes the Stourport High School and VIth Form College, Stourport Primary Academy, Baxter College, Hartlebury CE Primary School and St Bartholomew's CE Primary School. Wolverley Sebright Primary School is set to join the trust later this year.

Mrs Fishwick, Wilden headteacher, said: "Wilden really is a very special place and we hope that by joining SAET we will be increasing the benefits and opportunities for our children, including the ability to negotiate better value for facilities and educational resources, whilst maintaining our own distinct Christian ethos and individuality.

"We are looking forward to giving to the partnership as well as receiving the benefits it will bring to ensure our children continue to achieve outstanding outcomes so that they are well prepared for the next stage of their education and for later life."

Chris King, trust chief executive, added: "Being a part of a successful Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) provides greater opportunities for students and staff with a support network that helps to raise standards across the board.

"This is achieved through developing best practice and working strategically and collaboratively with each other."
