During the course of this year, all of the High Schools in the Wyre Forest School Sport Partnership have benefited from KS4 Community Sports Coach funding.
Each Partnership was allocated funding to support schools in their curriculum delivery. The Wyre Forest chose Judo, Table Tennis and Volleyball for their coaching delivery and all schools have provided excellent feedback from the sessions they received.
All schools received 5 weeks of coaching in each sport, culminating in a festival. Coaches from the Samurai Judo club, Kidderminster, delivered the judo sessions, Helen Lower (national women’s champion) delivered the Table Tennis and Anton Dmitirov (former Bulgarian international) delivered the Volleyball.
The coaching sessions have enabled schools to target certain pupils or groups and re-engage them in PE and physical activity.
