A TALENTED film producer from Kidderminster who has had her work recognised by TV giants hopes her achievement will inspire other rising film-makers.

Kim Archer, of Marlowe Close, has produced and directed a film called Nothing To Where? which is being shown on the ITV website.

The film tells the story of a young woman who complains of having nothing to wear and follows what happens to her as a result.

The 30-year-old was introduced to film production while studying for a dance degree at Coventry University.

She then went on to complete a one-year video production course at Kidderminster College, where she produced and directed the film.

She said: "I made the film to inspire people in the area. I'm pleased that my film is being recognised, as people can watch it and see what sort of work is being produced in the town."

The part-time video course is aimed at beginners and people looking for ways to develop their video or film experience.

Course tutor, Rupert Milward, said: "Kim's film has proved extremely popular and she has had a number of screenings across the UK. Her success is significant to both her and the local area.

"It is a glowing example of the talent we have right here in Kidderminster. I hope that this inspires other people in the area who have thought of making a film but never really took it forward.

"We have also had other students produce some excellent films, which I expect will be shown at festivals in the future."

Nothing to Where? is due to be shown at the Birmingham Arts Fest at Birmingham Central Library Theatre, Chamberlain Square, on Sunday, September 16 at 6pm.
