CLUBBERS of a certain vintage are being invited to roll back the years and throw some shapes to some of the best dance music ever made.

However, unlike the recent rash of rave reunions Come Together at the Custard Factory, Birmingham, is a multi-room event which will combine classic and current tunes to ensure a night of inter-generational fun.

Come Together, presented by House Sound of Birmingham bringing together four giants of the 1990s dance scene -Wobble, Leftfoot, The Hummingbird and Betterway.

Founder of House Sound of Birmingham Jock Lee, who started the Hummingbird Friday night dance nights and who has been involved in a host of record labels over the years, is looking forward to the event on Saturday.

He said: “Birmingham and the Black Country really were pivotal in the dance music explosion of the late 1980s and early 1990s and Come Together is a celebration of that.

“At the Hummingbird we went from a couple of hundred people to 3,000 every week in a matter of weeks and after putting on some really successful reunion nights we decided to take it onto another level by getting other famous brands involved.”

He added: “2014 will be remembered as the year that dance music really took off again with revival nights attracting thousands of people, of all ages, some of which were not even born when it all started.

“And the beauty of Alfie Birds at the Custard Factory is that it is a multi-room venue which means we can cater for everyone's tastes, whether it is old school or the best in modern music.”

A host of top DJs will be at Come Together including Hacienda legend John Dasilva,Phil Gifford, Lee Fisher, Adam Regan and Paul Moran.
