ALL kids think their dad's the best - and now they've got the chance to prove it in a national competition.

In a bid to highlight the vital role fathers play in their children's lives, the babycare company Philips Avent wants families to nominate dads for its Top Dad contest.

Nominees, who should be fathers of children aged under 16, can have done anything that makes a dad good - from getting hands-on in the care of a newborn, to making his children laugh in a unique way or helping them overcome their fears.

Vicki Scott, Philips Avent independent feeding and wellbeing adviser, says: "Dads should get involved from day one and that means everything from changing nappies to cuddling. They have such a vital role to play."

The Top Dad winner will get £400 worth of products chosen from the Philips website - anything from an electric toothbrush to a plasma screen - and will become a spokesperson for Philips Avent, offering advice to future and current fathers.
