THE Eastern Electronic Festival has landed in Birmingham and will be bringing a series of ground-breaking events until its conclusion on Saturday, May 31.

The next generation of British-Asian artists will be presenting new music, commissions, art and digital projects at various venues across Birmingham including clubs, canal boats, arts centres, bars, libraries and galleries.

Internationally acclaimed and emerging musicians, producers, film-makers, photographers, DJs, spoken word artists and broadcasters will be showcasing their talents.

Sharnita K Athwal, festival artistic director, said: "“Shaanti’s Eastern Electronic Festival aims to connect generations and encourage communication - particularly around the theme of empowerment - through new music and commissions.

"Above all the festival is a means to celebrate British Asian culture as a whole."

"We want EEF2014 to help break British Asian stereotypes but at the same time highlight some of the best, undiscovered artists in the contemporary music scene. Birmingham’s place at the centre of the UK and as a major creative force makes it the perfect location to showcase new music and commissions, and we look forward to artists from within the city as well as across the globe taking part in the festival."
