Craig: It’s snow joke

JOINT-boss Craig Payton is resigned to the fact Bewdley Town are set for a hectic end to the West Midlands Premier season.

The Ribbesford Meadow outfit saw their home clash with Bustleholme called off on Saturday because of snow.

With this weekend’s trip to Shawbury in serious doubt because of freezing temperatures and more snow, the fixtures are piling up for Town, who have played just four times since the start of December.

Payton said: “It’s getting beyond a joke.

“We had games called off in December because it was so wet and now the snow is causing us problems.

“The only positive is that it is affecting the whole league and not just ourselves.

“At the moment, we’re taking it a week at a time.

“It looks as though we will be playing twice-a-week until the end of the season, which does not really help us.”

Bewdley are scheduled to make the trip to Darlaston on Tuesday night (7.45pm ko).
