Five-point lead intact
8:00am Friday 1st March 2013 in Sportsview
WYRE Forest Phoenix Ladies maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Hereford and Worcester County League after seeing off Drakes Broughton 6-1 on Sunday.
With second-placed Pegasus coming to the district next weekend, Phoenx made sure they maintained the pressure on their title rivals.
Braces for Kirsty Jones, Chelsea Mudge and Kirsty Roberts made sure of the win.
The defence of Kelly Preece, Bex Meredith, Lucy Millward, Amy Rutland, Kat Meredith and keeper Vicky Hyde produced another cohesive display.
Phoenix’s under-10s team went down 6-0 to table-topping Inkberrow Girls. The under-15s also tasted defeat, going down 2-1 to Hasbury Rangers.
Sadie Brown hit the target as Wyre Forest’s under-17s drew 1-1 with Droitwich Spa Lions.
