We’ll have a say on title race – Craig
11:26am Thursday 28th February 2013 in Sportsview
JOINT boss Craig Payton believes Bewdley Town could be king-makers in the West Midlands Premier title battle.
While Town are out of the running for the top spot they will play three of the sides vying for the championship.
They face Shawbury United twice and Lye, as well as a trip to third-placed Black Country Rangers on Saturday (3pm ko).
Payton said: “We’ve got to play a lot of the sides going for the title so we could have a say on who wins it.
“We’ve got a very difficult game on Saturday as Rangers are really in a battle for the top.”
Town made it two wins in a row as they saw off Bromyard 2-1 at home on Saturday.
Jamie Towler levelled the scores while Russell Godfrey bagged a last-gasp winner.
Unfortunately, they were not allowed to build on that success as Tuesday’s game at Wednesfield was called off because of floodlight failure.
Bewdley face a busy week. After Rangers they go to Darlaston on Tuesday night and entertain Willenhall next Thursday (both 7.45pm ko).
