TWO winning draws over the Bank Holiday weekend have sparked Stourport’s escape bid in Worcestershire League Division Two.
The Wyre Forest side remain second from bottom but trail Cookley by 23 points.
On Saturday, Stourport batted first against third-placed Enville.
The Walshes Meadow side piled up 259-8 from their 50 overs with Ryan Delo (69) and Andrew Siwicki (56) starring.
In reply, Gavin Bryan (3-55) and Matthew Delo (4-28) restricted Enville to 244-8.
On Monday, Stourport were frustrated by stubborn resistance from bottom-of-the-table Tenbury Wells.
Batting first, Stourport found batting difficult as they reached 213-6, with Siwicki (77) the pick of the batsmen.
Despite an impressive spell of bowling from Lee Waldron (6-19 from 17 overs) could not see Stourport force victory as Tenbury were happy to settle for a losing draw on 130-8.

In reply, Tenbury had no response to the pace of Tom Neath as he returned figures of 7-45 to help bowl out Tenbury for 124 and give Stourport an impressive 230-run victory.
Meanwhile, the thirds beat Hallow by 74 runs and the fourths saw off their seconds by four wickets.
