Boat club skipper targets place at Henley Regatta

NEW captain of rowing at Stourport Boat Club Stewart Barnett is looking forward to one of the clubs most successfully seasons with a new committee in place and one of the strongest squads for many a year “We hope to qualify for the biggest and best regatta in the world - Henley Royal Regatta,” said Barnett..
“There's never been a better time to be out on the river at Stourport. We are particularly keen to recruit young athletes men and women keen for success They have already chalked up their first wins of the new season when at Worcester Head of the River Race on Sunday three masters crews came away with medals.
Tony Price sculling at Masters E easily won his division - his first win at a long distance event.
Also successful were Duncan Gwilliam in Masters D sculls and Tim Heywood and Pete Spencer in Masters C pair.
The club are hosting their annual masters and junior time trial this weekend.
