Black belt success for TAGB quartet
1:00pm Friday 1st November 2013 in Sportsview
FOUR members of Wyre Forest-based TAGB Schools earned their black belts in front of a panel of internationally recognised examiners.
Thomas-Anthony Smith, Chris Rayment-Bishop, Arther Collins and Sam Hawkswell, who all train in Bewdley and Kidderminster, produced strong performances at their taekwondo belt grading.
The three-day, twice annual event, brings students from all corners of the UK to the National Tae Kwon-Do Academy in Bristol.
Here groups of students had their years of training put to the test as they demonstrated their speed and precision techniques, battling each other through fast paced routines and spar each other in combat.
The brave foursome were supported on the day by Bewdley Instructor Katie Billingham and senior instructor of the West Midlands Group.
“We have watched all four grow and develop not just into the skills of Taekwondo, but also into honourable and brave young men,” said Billingham.
“We couldn’t be more proud of them for their performance.”
The club is now in training for the British Championships in November.
