LADIES FOOTBALL: Wyre Forest Phoenix produced a stirring comeback to come from 2-0 down and draw 2-2 at Malvern in the West Midlands Regional Women’s League Cup.
The team went some way to avenging their 3-1 loss early in the season with a much-improved display.
They went behind to a 21st minute goal and came close to leveller through Tracy Evans but her effort clipped the woodwork.
Malvern doubled their lead early in the second half but Phoenix bounced back and scored two goals in four minutes.
Chelsea Mudge slotted home after good work by Vicky Hyde, before Kirsty Jones set-up Kirsty Roberts for the leveller.
The under-12s edge out Pershore Town 2-1 with goals in the second half.
Substitute Jazmin Cartwright fired Phoenix ahead with her first touch of the ball.
Pershore found an equaliser but Natacha Trabulo’s deflected effort ensured a victory.
