STOURPORT Boat Club member Alex Holford has capped another phenomenal season achieving the most wins in the year.
To build on his success, the 17-year-old will also be part of the senior squad aiming to qualify for the prestigious Henley Royal Regatta.
The Stourport High School student earned this accolade with nine wins this season, and can rightly claim to be in great form as this will be his third year in a row he has topped the winners charts for the club.
He said: “It’s been a really challenging year with tough competition, but a hugely successful one for me. I’m looking forward to the Henley qualifiers and the crew looks to be developing into serious contenders for the main regatta.”
Qualifying for Henley will be held on Friday, June 27, where a time trial takes place for each category and the fastest crews enter the draw to race.
Winning an event at Henley is considered one of the greatest achievements of a rower’s career, with qualifying considered a badge of honour.
