A TRIO from Kidderminster’s Samurai Judo Club returned from Welsh Open Championships in Cardiff with three gold medals.
Nathan Gallacher and Darcie Hancocks, both currently rated top of their categories in the UK, cruised through the competition, absolutely wiping out all of the opposition and won all of their contests with maximum point throws.
They were joined on the medal podium by Sian Bobrowska, who comes from Worcester Judo Club but also now trains at Samurai.
She has made massive improvements of late and also won the gold with maximum points in each of her contests.
Both are now in the England squad following their success at the British National Championships last December. They are also part of the Samurai’s Gremlin Squad, made up of five young players who started training seriously together 18 months ago and now have seven national medals between them, including three British titles.
